Hi, I’m Lisa, and my journey to becoming a personal trainer is deeply rooted in my own fitness transformation. For 15 years, I’ve been a passionate group fitness instructor, helping others find joy in movement. But it wasn’t until this past year that I decided to take my knowledge and passion to the next level by earning my CPT certification to be a personal fitness instructor . Why? Because I’ve experienced firsthand the incredible impact of weight training—not just on the body, but on the mind and overall quality of life.
For years, I fell into the same trap many of us do: chasing cardio, thinking it was the key to fitness. I was working hard, eating very little, and wondering why I wasn’t getting the results I wanted. Worse, I was exhausted all the time. It wasn’t until after my son was born in 2000 that I made a pivotal change: I started lifting weights and fueling my body with proper nutrition. The transformation was undeniable—physically, mentally, and emotionally. I finally felt strong, energized, and like the best version of myself.
But like so many others, I struggled with consistency. I yo-yo’d back and forth for years, and when COVID hit, I realized I needed to make a change—not just for how I looked, but for how I felt. I committed to weight training, not as a quick fix, but as a lifelong habit. The benefits extended far beyond my physical fitness. My teaching performance improved, my focus as a business owner sharpened, and I started making better decisions, all because I felt more grounded, capable, and strong.
Now, as I navigate menopause, I’ve found weight training to be a literal game-changer. For women in this stage of life, lifting weights isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s about reclaiming our vitality, protecting our bone density, and building the strength to handle whatever life throws our way. Studies show that resistance training during menopause can counteract the natural muscle loss (sarcopenia) and decrease in bone density that many women experience. It also supports better hormone balance, reduces the risk of osteoporosis, and helps with mental health—something we all need as we adapt to this new phase of life.
I see so many women who feel like they’ve lost a sense of themselves during menopause, and I completely understand—I’ve been there too. That’s why I’m so passionate about what I do. I became a personal trainer to be the support system I wish I’d had during my own journey. My goal is to help women and men, rediscover their strength, confidence, and sense of self, no matter what stage of life they’re in. Together, we’ll focus on building a foundation of strength—not just physically, but mentally and emotionally as well.
Because here’s the truth: fitness isn’t just about looking good; it’s about feeling good. It’s about showing up for yourself and realizing that you’re stronger than you think. I’m here to help you reach your goals, break through the noise, and finally feel like the truest, strongest version of yourself.
